Who is Señora Newton?

Hey everyone! My name is MK Newton, and I am a Spanish teacher in Mississippi. I have a passion for the Spanish language, the field of education, and helping people in any way that I can. So this is a place where I hope all three of those areas can collide.

This summer I have had a lot of time to be still and dream of ideas for the future, and I don’t want to wait around any longer and let these ideas pass me by. Several years ago, I started a personal blog called MK at the Moment, where I reflected on my life, faith, relationships, mental health, and everything in between. I only did it as a creative outlet, but a lot of people responded to my posts and were very encouraging. I haven’t written anything in the last few years because I have been in school getting my master’s and learning how to be an effective educator, but now I am back and ready to start a new chapter!

I hope to share my experience with teaching, offer support for new teachers, and provide tips and strategies for staying more organized and less overwhelmed. I will also share products that have made life easier and some fun Spanish lessons and resources!

More than anything, I hope this is a space to connect with people and reflect on my experiences during my first few years of teaching.
